While out to capture the beauty of the sunrise in Derbyshire’s Peak District, photographer Leigh Pugh stumbled upon something extraordinary. He felt as if he was being watched and soon realized why. He discovered a frost formation on a rock that eerily resembled a fish eye.

Leigh Pugh was at Stanton Moor Edge, near Birchover, when he noticed the peculiar icy formation. Although the sky was too cloudy for a sunrise photo, he found something equally captivating. “As I turned to leave, I felt like it was staring at me. The thick frost layer made it look incredibly lifelike,” he said.

Thrilled with his unexpected find, Pugh, a resident of Darley Dale, shared his photo on social media. The image sparked conversations, with many users suggesting that the rock looked like the head of a fish or even a dragon. “I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I don’t expect to see it again. I guess I was just in the right place at the right time,” Pugh added.
