San Francisco is well-known for several things, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and, of course, its steep streets. However, there is one thing that not everyone is aware of: the stunning dawn that occurs just twice a year.
The dawn in San Francisco is a wonderful sight to witness, and it only happens twice a year, around the middle of March and the middle of September. The sun rises exactly behind the Transamerica Pyramid, one of the city’s most recognizable structures, creating a stunning show of light and color.
The first rays of the sun illuminate the sky in pink, purple, and orange hues, throwing a pleasant glow over the metropolis. The sky gets brighter and more brilliant as the sun rises, and the cityscape is drenched in golden light.
Locals and tourists alike come to the vantage spots to view this breathtaking natural spectacle. Coit Tower, Twin Peaks, and the Golden Gate Bridge are among the greatest sites in San Francisco to see the dawn.
Because of the Earth’s location in regard to the sun, this dawn only occurs twice a year. The Earth’s axis is neither inclined towards or away from the sun during the equinox, resulting in equal quantities of daylight and darkness.
