“This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.”

Michael Farmer observed something unbelievable on one of his Costa Rican property’s grounds.

A little metal item that appeared to be on the leaves of a guava tree glistened like polished chrome in the sunshine. But then it began to crawl.

After all, it was a live creature.

Farmer had recently found Chrysina limbata, one of the world’s most remarkable beetles characterised by its silvery, reflecting shell.

Farmer was amazed when he saw it for himself.

She stopped moving and pretended to be dead while Farmer took up the insect and examined it more closely.

“I was shocked by how gorgeous everything looked,” Farmer told The Dodo. “[I]’ve never seen anything like it.”

The farmer photographed the beetle, which seemed almost too beautiful to be real.

It looked like a mirror. He said, “Perfect reflection in the beetle.” In my view, this is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

The farmer then realized that these bugs are actually rather rare. Despite being more often found in the area, the species has been badly threatened by habitat loss as well as being caught and sold to collectors.

That horrible event was spared by the bug Farmer spotted that day.

“I don’t believe in selling live things like that,” Farmer stated. I reattached it to the tree, and it flew away in an instant.

But the memory stayed with him.

Farmer has never seen such a bug before, but he hopes it isn’t the last.

He stated, “I’m not a big fan of insects.” “However, I’m still amazed by it. I’m looking forward to seeing more.
